Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Where2Shop ("we", "our", "the extension") is a free tool that helps Australian shoppers compare grocery prices across Coles, Woolworths, and Aldi, and optionally fill their cart at the cheapest store. We are committed to your privacy. We do not collect, store, or sell any personal information.

2. Data we collect

We collect no personal data. The extension and web app do not ask for your name, email address, location, or payment information.

The only data transmitted is the list of products you choose to compare (product IDs and quantities), sent to our price-comparison API at where2shop.com.au/api solely to return price results. It contains no name, account, cookie or device identifier, and it is not stored on our servers beyond the duration of the request.

3. Permissions used by the extension

• storage — to keep your current basket in your browser's local extension storage, and to share it between the page, the popup and the side panel. The basket itself stays on your device; only the product IDs and quantities described in section 2 are ever sent to us, and only when you ask for a comparison.
• sidePanel — to open Where2Shop as a Chrome side panel, so you can browse prices and edit your basket without leaving the page you are on.
• host permissions — three sites, each tied to a visible feature:
  • where2shop.com.au — to read the basket you built in our own web app so the popup and side panel can display it, and to call our price-comparison API.
  • www.coles.com.au and www.woolworths.com.au — to add your chosen items to your own trolley on that retailer's site, using the same actions you would perform manually, and only after you click the fill button.

4. Third-party services

We do not share your data with any third party. Price data is scraped from publicly available retailer websites (Coles, Woolworths, Aldi) and stored in our catalogue database. We have no affiliation with these retailers.

5. Cookies & tracking

Neither the extension nor the web app uses cookies, analytics trackers, or fingerprinting of any kind.

6. Children's privacy

Where2Shop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
